Pop Star Badly Burned by Boiling Water Just 1 Hour Before Taking the Stage

The pop star revealed her terrifying injuries after the show had finished. She captioned the post, "The show must go on."

Pop star Nicole Scherzinger had a pretty bad run-up to her recent Dusseldorf show. As reported by Page Six, she revealed some pretty gruesome injuries she endured just before taking the stage.

She was at the PSD Bank Dome in the German city to perform with the Pussycat Dolls as a part of the PCD Forever tour. The day after her performance, she posted a story on Instagram detailing her injuries.

The post showed a picture of her leg, which had clear water lines surrounded by blistered skin and painful dark marks.

"Nothing like boiling water falling on your leg an hour before your set," she captioned the image. "But the show must go on. Thanks Dusseldorf for keeping me going. See you soon Amsterdam."

She went on to perform at Amsterdam with the Pussycat Dolls with no issue. The pop star has been performing across Europe with the band as a part of their tour - and documenting her experience as she goes.

Scherzinger, of Polish ancestry, recently performed in Warsaw. This was something significant to her, as she detailed in a post on social media: "My first time in Poland!!", she gushed. "I come from Polish ancestry, so being here feels like coming home to a piece of my roots."

The Pop Star Got Burnt by Boiling Water - She's Not the Only One

According to the Journalist's Resource, an estimated 186,000 are injured by hot water every year. We aren't sure as to how exactly the pop star got injured. In any case, it's important to know that hot water can be really quite dangerous.

And, before you think this isn't a problem - think again. Experts have warned that that's the exact reason why it's such a problem. "There's a lack of awareness about this," Wendy Shields, a senior scientist at the Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy, says. "You might not think this is a risk, but this is how many people are hurt."

It is absolutely imperative that people are careful around hot or boiling water. Even if you're not going to perform in Dusseldorf.
