TMZ broke the news. It comes after a report that the "All Night Long" singer cut a set short after telling the audience he felt "dizzy" and "strange."

Is Lionel Richie OK?

Richie was performing "Dancing on the Ceiling" at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota, when he started feeling unwell. At one point, the 77-year-old had to take a seat on one of the stage's platforms.

Richie was only 55 minutes into his 90-minute set when he left the stage, though he did try to power through it. The moment was shared on X by music critic Jon Bream. After telling the audience how he was feeling, he then sat down at the piano and performed "Three Times A Lady."

"When you're feeling dizzy, sit your ass down," Richie joked.

After the song, Richie then left the stage. After 40 minutes had passed, saxophonist Dino Soldo went onstage to announce that Richie was unwell and unable to continue.

Paramedics met Richie backstage. He was then taken to a hospital by ambulance. Sources say the trip was a precautionary measure.

This Was the First Show of Richie's Tour With Earth, Wind & Fire

This show was the first of 26 concerts with pop legends Earth, Wind & Fire. As reported by PEOPLE, the band's drummer, John Paris, said that Richie seemed fine before the show. He then went on to explain he was "a little dehydrated."

Richie's next concert is scheduled for Chicago tomorrow, Friday, June 26. At press time, the show appears to be going on as scheduled. The U.S. leg of this tour will end on Aug. 14 in Austin, Texas. He will then travel to Malta and the U.K.

One fan replied to the video of his performance, saying, "These artists like him and Rod Stewart are not spring chickens anymore as long as they sing I don't care if they sit in a carousel lol."
