Wood pallets have been country crafters' best friend for many years; they are simple, rustic and practical. Pallets also lend themselves to an infinite number of Pinterest-worthy DIY projects. Pick up one and you've got the makings to craft up a wine rack, coffee cup caddy, patriotic display and more pallet projects.
But why stop with one? Here's a look at how Imgur user Redheadfox skipped the simple pallet projects and took her woodwork to a whole 'nother level.
Rather than deconstructing and cutting the wooden frames, this builder decided to collect over 40 pallets and strategically stack them into something awesome - an outdoor poolside lounge. Made entirely out of pallets, the final result is sturdy, weatherproof and the perfect backyard hangout spot.
The first step was collecting 43 pallets and mapping out a design plan.
Next was sanding the pallets to give them a smooth surface.
After the wood was sanded and cleaned, they were primed and painted.
Once the pallets were dry, it was time to arrange them and begin building the patio floor.
The pallets are stacked and the living space begins to take shape. In addition to the floor and walls, pallets are used to create benches.
Steel rods and wire are added to stabilize the terrace.
Last but not least, a fence and some outdoor decor are added.
Voila! Complete with chairs, pillows and a sun umbrella, the poolside pallet patio is complete.
With the addition of string lights, the patio easily transitions to an amazing nighttime hangout.
