After reportedly plunging $200K worth of fancy art into her pool, a politician's ex allegedly still demanded that she bail him out of jail.

Indeed, former Arizona senator Kyrsten Sinema's bodyguard turned lover (and current ex), Matthew Ammel, reportedly has a lot of nerve. Per TMZ, the 50-year-old politician took out a restraining order on the 39-year-old U.S. Army vet after he reportedly went berserk at her Cave Creek home in late August after they split.
During the alleged rampage, Ammel reportedly dumped 22 pieces of pricey artwork in Sinema's pool. He also reportedly smashed several vintage alcohol bottles and shattered a mirror during the rampage.
He was later indicted on one count of felony criminal damage.
In September, Ammel was arrested, and Sinema was granted a no-contact order.
However, the politician's bold ex allegedly violated the no-contact order by demanding she pay his bail, according to court documents obtained by the Arizona Republic. Sinema's attorney, Colleen Clase, wrote in the documents that Ammel had a bail bondsman call Sinema. He allegedly demanded that she flip the bill for Ammel's $25,000 bond. It's unclear exactly when this call was placed.
Clase claims this violates Sinema's no-contact order.
"This is a form of indirect contact, constitutes witness harassment and intimidation, and causes substantial concern given the recent history of threats made against her life," the lawyer wrote.
Politician Reportedly Requests That Her Ex's Bond Be Increased
Rather than pay for her ex's bail, Sinema's legal team is requesting that it be increased. Reportedly, prosecutors are pushing for the bond to go from $25,000 to a cash-only $100,000. Clase also implied Ammel was a danger not only to her politician client but to the public at large.
"The nature and seriousness of the threats, [Ammel's] criminal history, past evidence for [Sinema's] conduct, and the need for appropriate conditions of release if he is not deemed non-bondable need to be sufficient to protect [Sinema] and the community," Clase added.
Ammel became part of Sinema's security detail back in 2022. The two reportedly started a relationship before Sinema's divorce was finalized; Ammel was also married. During their romance, Sinema reportedly bought Ammel lavish gifts and invited him to attend a Taylor Swift concert with her.
According to The New York Post, Ammel's ex-wife later sued Sinema using North Carolina's "homewrecker law." Of course, this brought a media spotlight to the relationship.
