April 16, the Teocaltiche Municipal Administration posted a desperate message on Facebook, appearing to blame state officials for the surge in violence. "Today, we raise our voices with profound helplessness and indignation over the tragedies that have repeatedly struck our community. Enough of the deaths — Enough of the suffering of our families! Enough of being ignored!" the post reads."Every life lost, every family broken, every night spent, are wounds that cry for justice. We can't and shouldn't get used to living like this. We demand clear and overwhelming answers from the State. And the Federation. We demand real protection for our people — we demand the restoration of peace, security, and dignity of our homes." The post also concludes, " We rise together, with dignity and the strength of those who never give up."
Per the New York Post, President Trump also has branded the Jalisco New Generation cartel as a foreign terrorist organization.
