Plane Death Under Investigation After Four-Hour Flight
Footage recorded inside the airport appeared to show authorities removing the woman's body from the aircraft beneath a white sheet.
Officials subsequently transferred her body to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy to establish the cause of death.
Local reports suggest that the woman may have suffered cardiorespiratory arrest, although authorities have not publicly confirmed the exact circumstances.
Following the completion of the necessary legal procedures, officials released her body to her family.
Relatives explained that the 28-year-old had been returning to Chiapas to visit family after working in another city.
The family has reportedly requested assistance from the Municipal Presidency of Acacoyagua to help transport her body and cover expenses associated with her death.
Eight Hospitalized After Turbulence Forces Emergency Landing
In a separate aviation incident, eight people were hospitalized after severe turbulence forced a passenger plane to make an emergency landing in Miami.
The incident occurred during the early hours of Friday, October 9, aboard Avianca flight AV042, which was traveling from Medellín, Colombia, to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.
The aircraft landed safely in Miami, but emergency responders treated "multiple patients" for injuries before transporting them to a nearby hospital.
Witnesses reportedly saw several passengers holding ice packs against their heads, while another wore a neck brace. Emergency personnel also transported a flight attendant to the hospital on a gurney.
Avianca subsequently confirmed that flight AV042 "encountered unexpected turbulence during its journey," prompting the crew to divert to Miami as a precaution.
According to the airline, the turbulence affected six passengers and three cabin crew members.
The emergency landing came amid Hurricane Isaias affecting parts of the United States, with the storm reportedly reaching Category 3 strength.
