Perez Hilton is usually writing about the escapades of the rich and famous. However, earlier this week, the celebrity blogger became the story himself for concerning reasons. According to Page Six, "...Hilton, born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., was rushed to the hospital after livestreaming an apparent self-harming video on TikTok Live." Now, his family is opening up about his condition on his web site.

"We Remain Hopeful"
In their first brief update, they noted that Hilton was "receiving medical care." They asked that the public respects his and his family's privacy during this very challenging time as well.
The next, longer update said the following in part. "Your compassionate humanity during this heartbreaking time has meant more than words can express. This has been incredibly difficult and emotional for us, made even harder because very little information has been made available to our family. While we continue to wait for further updates, we remain hopeful."
Furthermore, the statement added, "We have also been able to confirm that Perez is able to communicate, which has given our family hope. We respectfully ask for your continued prayers, understanding, and grace as Perez continues to recover. we will share additional updates as we receive confirmed information and are able to do so...."
Hilton Was Allegedly Self-Harming and Livestreaming It
On Tuesday, Perez Hilton, who is the dad to three kids via surrogacy, was allegedly self-harming. It reportedly took place at his home in Miami, Florida. He was apparently livestreaming it. According to Page Six, the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office shared that units went to Hilton's house. They were reportedly getting calls from people alarmed by his behavior, which they saw on social media. He then was brought to a local hospital.
Referring to 911 dispatch audio, the outlet notes that the incident was called a "suicide attempt."
He Has Had Several Major Challenges To Cope With
Per the outlet, Perez Hilton has had a lot of serious things on his plate. Among them were, according to sources, "...a cross-country move, a health crisis that 'almost killed him' and financial struggles after life-saving surgeries...." What exactly may have triggered what happened on Tuesday is unclear at this time.
