A 23-year-old woman has died after a man fell from a high-rise apartment building and landed on her as she walked along a sidewalk in central Japan.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, July 19, in Nagoya's Sakae district.
Police said 29-year-old Shinsei Taguchi fell from a 12-story building before striking Houra Inaba below.
Pedestrian Dies After Man Falls From Apartment Building
Emergency crews rushed both Inaba and Taguchi to hospital following the incident.
Despite doctors' efforts, Inaba later died from hemorrhagic shock caused by her injuries.
According to local media, Taguchi remains unconscious in critical condition.
Authorities have not yet determined exactly what led to the fall, including whether Taguchi fell accidentally or intentionally. Investigators have also not confirmed which floor of the building he fell from.
A friend of Inaba alerted police immediately after the incident.
The building is located near the Nagoya Expressway's downtown loop, a busy area that is frequently crowded with pedestrians.
Local police have launched an investigation as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Separate Climbing Accident Claims Tourist's Life
The incident comes just days after another fatal accident claimed the life of a tourist in Romania.
Thirty-six-year-old Antonia Mihailescu died after falling more than 30 feet during a group climbing expedition in the country's Bucegi Mountains on July 11.
The accident triggered a complex rescue operation that lasted around three hours.
According to reports, four climbers were attached to the same belay device when it suddenly failed, sending the group plunging down the mountainside.
Emergency teams dispatched four helicopters, including a Black Hawk aircraft, while rescuers were lowered onto the steep slope to reach the injured climbers.
Three injured men were airlifted to hospitals in the region. The survivors were reportedly between 27 and 51 years old.
Although Mihailescu was initially conscious after the fall, her condition deteriorated more than an hour later, and she later died from her injuries.
Local police have opened an investigation to determine whether offenses including manslaughter and negligent bodily harm were committed.
