Pat McAfee's career is going from strength to strength. His "The Pat McAfee Show" originally started in a basement. Now, it's a regular on ESPN. McAfee is also a key figure on College GameDay and a welcome presence at WWE shows where he works as a color commentator.

If you wanted proof of how far McAfee's TV career has come, look no further to the interview he had with President Donald Trump in 2025. Well, it would appear that the interview laid the foundations for what's to come next.
During Thursday's live edition of his show, McAfee revealed that he will be hosting a live show direct from the White House when the UFC holds an event there on June 14. The agreement fell into place when McAfee met Trump during halftime of the Indiana Hoosiers and Miami Hurricanes on Monday.
"They're like, 'Halftime. Would you like to go up there at halftime?' I'm like, 'Yeah, sweet. That'll be cool,'" McAfee told Dana White, CEO of the UFC. "...I go, 'Mr. President thank you so much for coming on the show, we're obviously very grateful, it was huge.' And he immediately goes, 'I heard it did well,' like obviously goes right into it."
Pat McAfee Was the One To Make the Request
On screen, McAfee is the picture of confidence. He's fun, charismatic and full of energy. It would appear he's like that off-camera, too. During his discussion with White, he admitted that he was the one who requested to run a live show in the White House.
"I said to him, I'm like, 'Hey, would love to be able to do show from White House for the fight or whatever,'" McAfee explained. "And he goes, 'Really?' And I go, 'Good?' And he goes, 'Yeah, yeah.' And then he shakes the hand. I hope somebody got that."
From a basement to his own studio and now the White House.
"Live from the White House is an absurd thing," McAfee said. "Just as a program that started in the basement."
It looks like June 14 is going to be a historic night for White, McAfee and the UFC itself. Lets just hope the fights deliver to make it a memorable event all around.
