Pastor John-Paul Miller Accused Of Abusing 15-Year-Old Girl In Latest Scandal For SC Pastor

A woman identified as "Jane Doe" has filed a complaint against Solid Rock pastor John-Paul Miller. She accuses him of sexually abusing her back when she was a 15-year-old girl in 1998. Doe also alleges that Miller groped her again in 2023 when she was an adult.

In a complaint obtained by 13 News, Doe accused Miller of groping her when she ran across him in 2023. This "triggered repressed memories" of the sexual abuse she allegedly endured at the hands of John-Paul Miller back in the '90s.

Doe's attorney, Randal Hood, talked with the outlet and revealed that the FBI has been in contact with his defendant. "She had heard that there were multiple other victims over the years," Hood told the outlet. "And it is her hope that in bringing light to the situation, that it will keep it from ever happening again."

The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday, February 25, in Horry County Circuit Court. Alongside John-Paul Miller, the plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe #1, named Reginald Wayne Miller - John-Paul's father-, All Nations Cathedral Church, and Solid Rock Ministries.

"The Defendants — both individually and together — have built, maintained and concealed a system of sexual misconduct that harmed numerous minors, including Plaintiff Jane Doe #1," the lawsuit reads.

Sexual Abuse

The document detailed that John-Paul Miller allegedly forced Doe into his father's office. He would then bring the then-15-year-old into his truck and allegedly raped Doe, who was a virgin at the time. Twenty-five years later, in 2023, Doe ran into Miller in Myrtle Beach, the lawsuit states. There, Miller "shoved his hands down her pants touching her genitals without consent," Doe claims.

The lawsuit would claim then that the Millers would operate their churches "without adequate protections for minors." This inevitably created an environment where abuse incidents such as Doe's "could thrive."

"It was part of a calculated plan to groom victims while simultaneously gaining the community's trust and financial support," the lawsuit claims. It stated that measures and safeguards were not implemented by the Millers. These included "prohibiting one-on-one unsupervised interactions between adults and minors, requiring background checks for all staff and volunteers, and establishing mandatory reporting protocols for suspected abuse."

"At the end of the day, whether it's this church or any other church, pastors and leaders of churches need to be held accountable when things happen to children," attorney Randal Hood added.

Most recently, John-Paul Miller has faced backlash and controversy following his wife's death. Authorities ruled Mica Miller's death as a suicide. However, many of her family members and many more protestors have contested the ruling, creating the "Justice for Mica" movement.
