Passenger Has Unhinged Reaction to Reclining Seat

The viral TikTok video showed a woman acting out in a big way over a reclined seat. "Worst plane ride", the caption read.

We all know that flying can be a very stressful experience. It's very rarely a 100% smooth experience. Airlines try to help make everyone's time in the air better. Free snacks, in-flight entertainment, and, somewhat controversially, reclining seats.

They've long been a topic of contention. Some people just hate it when others recline their seat in front of them. As is what happened recently. As reported by the New York Post, one passenger had a particularly crazy reaction to having a seat recline in front of her.

A video posted on TikTok shows a woman exploding at her fellow passenger after she tried to get comfy. The video shows the woman behind her repeatedly shoving the back of the seat, and also throwing her hands up in anger.

The video was captioned "Worst plane ride". Apt description, to be honest. As someone with a pretty bad fear of flying, I don't think I'd be able to handle that very well myself.

The music playing in the background was Charli XCX's hit "House". You've probably heard the song if you're on TikTok. The resounding lyric "I think I'm gonna die in this house" emphasized the whole incident, as the woman thrashed at the seat.

Commenters Were Not So Nice About the Woman

And, expectedly, commenters were not happy with the woman's actions at all.

One commenter wrote, "Let me guess you DARED to recline the chair that was designed to recline." Another wrote, "Do people not realize plane seats only recline like 2 inches?"

Others were surprised at the apparent age of the woman because she wasn't a kid. She appeared to be middle-aged! "Oh it's not a child... The way I first thought 'I'd correct my child SO FAST' just to find out it's a grown a** adult," one commenter said.

Others seemed to support the woman. Or, not support per se, but still agree that it can be frustrating. One commentator wrote, "I'm 6 ft 6 in. My knees are always touching the seat in front... what do you expect tall people to do?" Another wrote, "I have no sympathy for ppl that recline their seat."

While both sides are valid, what we can all agree on is that that was a pretty unnecessary reaction.
