The incident occurred on Tuesday 14 on an Air France flight from Paris to Boston. According to NBC Boston, Massachusetts State Police say the person's death is under investigation. Authorities wouldn't share much information beyond describing the death as "unattended." The police explained that the passenger's details would not be released until their loved ones had been notified.

Air France Airlines provided the following statement when requested by NBC:

"Air France confirms that a customer on flight AF334 from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Boston on 14 January 2025 was taken ill during the flight. Despite the assistance of a doctor on board, the customer couldn't be rescued. Air France reminds that its crew members are regularly trained to handle these kinds of situations. Air France regrets this sad event and expresses its sincere condolences."

The Air France Passenger Likely Died Of A Heart Attack

At the time of writing, it's unclear how many people were on the flight. However, USA Today reports that the passenger died of a heart attack after receiving a statement from Air France. The outlet also confirms that someone called the agency's Crime Scene Services Section regarding the incident. The Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit was also contacted.

Airlines have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons as of late. We recently reported on two bodies found in a JetBlue plane's landing gear during a routine inspection. Authorities have been tight-lipped on any details concerning the two individuals pending an investigation. We don't know why they were there, although an aviation expert reveals they likely froze to death.

We also reported on an incident on a Swiss International airline where the cabin filled with smoke just before New Year's Eve. The situation was so bad that the plane that was traveling from Bucharest to Zurich had to perform an emergency landing in Graz, Austria. Passengers were evacuated, but a member of the cabin crew sadly lost their lives.
