Everyone has at least the slightest of a celebrity crush, whether they're willing to admit it or not. There's always one person on screen that makes you feel some type of way, after all...
For Jim O'Heir, years before he starred as Jerry Gergich in Parks And Recreation, he got the ultimate chance to meet his celebrity crush: Mary Tyler Moore.
And, per People, the whole thing was pretty darn embarrassing for him. He described it as "humiliating". He recently opened up to ReMIND about a time he got to meet her back in 1989.
Mary Tyler Moore was hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live. Luckily for O'Heir, one of his friends was a writer for the show - and he knew about his desperate crush he had on the celebrity. Well, it wasn't just his writer friend - as he put it, "Everybody knew I was in love with her."
"Through some miracle, I actually got to meet her," he recalled. "My friend called and said, 'Just so you know, Mary Tyler Moore is hosting.'"
Of course, Saturday Night Live was hosted in New York City... which was a problem for the Parks and Rec star. He was based in Chicago at the time - so he had to band together with his friends.
"I wasn't making any money, so my buddies and I scraped together everything we could," he explained.

He Went to New York Just to See His Celebrity Crush
"I think five of us stayed in one hotel room," he recalled. "We lied about how many people were staying there!"
Luckily, his friends were obsessed with Elvis Costello, the musical guest at the time. But he wasn't too smitten with him - "They didn't care about Mary Tyler Moore, and I didn't care about Elvis Costello."
It took several rounds of rehearsals leading up to the show for him to gather his courage to approach his celebrity crush. "Finally, she was leaving, and I knew this was my last chance," he shared.
"I stepped in front of her, and my brain just stopped working. I stood there staring at her. She looked at me, smiled, and said, 'Would you like a picture?' All I could do was nod."
And that picture is still on his desk to this day!
