Parents Found Guilty Of Manslaughter After They Prayed For Diabetic 8-Year-Old Daughter Instead Of Giving Her Insulin

Before the invention of modern medicine in the 19th century, life expectancy was about 30 to 40 years old. Thankfully, we now have modern science and can live much longer healthier lives. However, a family who decided to rely on prayer to cure their diabetic daughter have unsurprisingly murdered their child, and are now being found guilty of manslaughter.

If prayer hadn't worked for thousands of years before the invention of modern medicine, I don't know why it would start now. The parents of the diabetic child, along with 12 others, have been convicted of manslaughter for replacing her life-saving insulin with prayers.

The court hearing told of the mistreatment of their diabetic daughter at the hands of a religious cult. The group that called themselves 'The Saints' withheld her insulin, resulting in the death of the 12-year-old girl.

According to the report, Elizabeth Struhs was diagnosed with type one diabetes in 2019. Her parents were told that she would need insulin shots to regulate her blood sugar. These shots were essential to keep her alive.

Parents Guilty Of Manslaughter Intentionally Withheld Diabetic Medicine

For reasons that can only be described as insanity, the family began withholding her lifesaving medicine. In 2022, when the 8-year-old girl started showing serious signs of high blood sugar, the cult started its treatment.

Rather than give her insulin, the cult sang and prayed for her, resulting in the manslaughter of the diabetic girl. She went for six days without the vital insulin shots. Descriptions of the young girl's final days say she was vomiting, experiencing extreme tiredness, speaking little, needed help going to the toilet, and was incontinent as well as losing consciousness.

Despite these telling signs, the family still thought that prayer would work. The young girl eventually died, lacking the lifesaving insulin she needed. For 36 hours after her death, they didn't call the police, believing she would be resurrected.

The group believed they could bring the diabetic girl back after the manslaughter. Her father told the court, "To all of you, it looks like God has failed. But I know Elizabeth is only sleeping and I will see her again. Because God has promised, and she is healed." God had nothing to do with it.

Consequently, 14 members of the religious cult are being tried for manslaughter. They were found guilty, and they will all be going away for a lengthy sentence. Maybe if they pray and sing their sentences will be reduced.
