A Kentucky couple has been accused of abusing the man's 5-year-old son, according to People. For what reason? Well, the child apparently finished his homework incorrectly by "coloring outside the lines." Unfortunately, this is not the extent of the parents' alleged abuse.

Couple Allegedly Abused 5-Year-Old Son Over Incomplete Homework
The cops arrested 27-year-old Ricky and 24-year-old Nichole North on Sunday, March 30. Police charged the couple with criminal abuse, tampering with physical evidence, strangulation, and failure to report child dependent neglect/abuse. This is according to a Middlesboro Police Department
statement.According to the statement, the Norths allegedly performed a myriad of horrifying acts of abuse on this boy. They duct taped the 5-year-old's arms and legs, punished him with cold showers, and body slammed and choked him. This is amongst other things they mentioned in the Facebook post.
The most egregious crime they listed was allegedly "whipping the child for coloring outside of the lines on homework." What a horrific thing to do to a child who did something so minor that any normal parent wouldn't pay any mind to it. Police have also accused the couple of holding the boy down by his ankles and "slamming his head numerous times on the ground."
"The child was subjected to this torture, cruel confinement, and cruel punishment on numerous occasions while in Mr. and Mrs. North's care," the statement ended with. According to public court records, they are holding Ricky and Nichole at Bell County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
So far, we don't know where the child will end up. He could possibly go into the care of other suitable family members, or perhaps he'll be in the foster care system. We also don't have information on their upcoming court dates, but we may find out more as this investigation continues.
We also have no insight into the means by which the police caught them. This alleged abuse has seemingly been going on for the young boy's entire life. We can only hope that the authorities charge this couple rightfully for their horrendous crimes if they are true.
