What Vehicles Does the Recall Affect?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed that the recall impacts Chrysler Ram 1500 vehicles. Vehicles made between 2019 and 2016 are affected.

More specifically, there were around 1,270,000 affected cars being recalled in the US. As well as this, over 150,000 were registered in Canada, and almost 90,000 were from the rest of the world.

What is Affected?

The NHTSA confirmed that the issue stems from an improperly installed seat buckle anchor in the second row. They do not pass the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard, meaning that injuries can occur if occupants are involved in a car crash.

As well as this, the report clarified that occupants could be impacted in "certain types of driving conditions".

Chrysler's parent company, Stellantis, confirmed one injury was related to the improperly installed seat buckle anchor. However, they clarified that no fatalities have currently been reported.

How Do I Know if My Vehicle is Affected?

Chrysler has explained that affected vehicles can be identified from their vehicle identification numbers (VIN). These can be entered onto the NHTSA.org website.

Car owners will be sent a letter that states that their vehicle is affected. This is due to be mailed on August 18, 2026.

Drivers are advised to take their vehicles to the nearest Chrysler dealership, quoting recall number 67D. There, mechanics will inspect and, if necessary, attach the seat belt buckle back to the body structure. This will be free of charge.

Customers have also been advised to contact Chrysler if they have any concerns about their vehicles. They can do this by contacting their customer service number at 1-800-853-1403.

This comes after Chrysler was forced to recall 450,000 vehicles earlier this year. The specific issue at that time was related to a brake light failure, which could seriously increase the risk of a crash. The impacted vehicles were said to have faulty modules.

We hope that no one else is injured due to either of these recalls.
