Horrified onlookers on the cruise ship could only stand by and watch as the super yacht Aurora collided with the much larger cruise liner, The Allure of the Seas.

Footage caught by Zachary McCurrie shows the entire event as it unfolds. The Aurora heads toward the side of the liner, and by the time the crew realizes, it's already too late. There's an almighty thud when the vessels collide.

The impact doesn't completely stop the yacht; it floats alongside the cruise liner with a nasty scraping sound. We don't know if the crew member on the deck of the Aurora is the captain, but they try in vain to reduce the damage caused.

You can see them push something off the side in an attempt to minimize the impact. As the yacht and liner grind against each other, the yacht's radar array on the top gets shredded.

Fortunately, the yacht veered away shortly after the collision, and nobody was hurt. The same can't be said for the yacht owner's wallet. The Aurora is reportedly worth $12 Million, while the Allure of the Seas is over $1 Billion!

This Is The Third Accident The Cruise Liner Has Seen Recently

According to WSVN, this incident is the third the cruise liner has faced in as many months. An eyewitness, Dayanni Bhagwandin, provided a little more insight into what happened.

"When it got to a third of the way past the cruise (liner) as it was entering the port, it swung to the right and then just kept coming at a diagonal towards the cruise." "I was like, maybe I should grab my phone because this is kind of weird." It looks like it is coming really close to the boat." "As I was grabbing my phone, I heard the initial impact of the yacht hitting the side of the cruise."

Fortunately, the incident caused minor damage to the cruise liner, and the vessel's departure was only delayed by about 40 minutes.
