Alongside leaving hair straighteners on when you leave the house, accidentally using nail glue instead of eye drops is one of the scariest makeup mishaps you can make. And one mother from California learned this lesson the hard way.

Ria Faggart posted a video on TikTok showing footage from a hospital room with text that reads, "POV: your mom thought her nail glue was her eye drops."
In the video, you can see a lady in a hospital bed, unable to open either eye. She's clearly trying to blink, but the glue doesn't budge. The glue has stuck the lady's eyelashes together, and there's even a drop of the fluid on her cheek.
It Seems Nail Glue Mishaps Aren't Too Uncommon
The comment section under the video has a whopping 11,000 replies at the time of writing. A quick scan reveals many people have had similar issues with nail glue, and there are plenty of horror stories. We even reported on a similar case back in November.
One user, Eternity, says, "That happens to me. The WORST experience ever!!" When asked how they got the glue out, Eternity explains "First, I put a warm rag on my eye and gently separated my eyelids slowly. Then I got a q-tip and dip in normal saline, and wiped as much dried glue out. Ended up going to the emergency room!" Fortunately, this user reports that her eye wasn't damaged, and doctors sent her home with anti-biotic drops.
Another user, gamerproboy12731, says, "This is why we should make different shape containers for nail glue and eye drops cause they both look the same."
User Ayz simply replied, "My biggest fear."
Ria has since set up a GoFundMe for her mother while she's unable to work. The fundraiser page explains that she is a foster mom, "so she does not have disability (pay)." Ria also reiterates, " Doctors are saying it will take 5-7 weeks before her eye opens, and then she will need to have it examined for damage. We appreciate all of the prayers and concern."
At the time of writing, the fundraiser has raised $892 of the $3500 target.
