The Baby's Parents Are Charged With Felony Child Abuse

They Appeared Before A Judge On Thursday Morning

Per cbsnews.com, Judge Jacque Lyn Russell called the child's mother, Christina Thurman, 33, "a 'danger to your son — both physical and emotional danger to your son.'" The story gets even worse. Per the outlet, "According to an arrest report, investigators said the baby also tested positive for having cocaine in his system."

A Good Samaritan Reportedly Found The Baby

According to an update from the Adams County Sheriff's Office last night, "Both biological parents have been arrested and charged with felony child abuse in this case." They have been identified as Jarvis Sims, 42, and Thurman.

The child was discovered "on the median near 7490 Pecos Street in Denver, just north of Highway 36," according to cbsnews.com.

Information from the original Facebook post from the Sheriff's Office stated that, "We received the 911 call from someone who saw the baby and stopped to help at 9:20 AM this morning (Christmas Day). Detectives have canvassed the area, seeking camera footage, and sought anyone who may have been in the area when the baby was left."

Thurman And Sims Were Verbally Fighting

Someone Allegedly Saw Sims Put The Baby In The Car Seat On The Median

The witness called out to Sims to come back and get the child, per the outlet. He reportedly replied, "That's her kid, give it to her!"

"Thurman and Sims are both being held on a $50,000 bond," per the outlet. The pair are expected in court on Monday so that charges can be officially filed.
