Blake Shelton to Open 'Ole Red' Bar and Music Venue in Nashville

Blake Shelton is about to become the latest country star to open his own bar on Nashville's historic Lower Broadway.

In an announcement at the historic Ryman Auditorium, Shelton revealed plans to open a new bar and music venue in Tennessee and store in his hometown of Tishomingo, Okla. The businesses will be themed around his hit 2001 single "Ole Red." Shelton himself will not be an owner of the properties, but his likeness and brand will be used for the projects. Ryman Hospitality Properties, who also own the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium, will spearhead the new businesses.

The Nashville Ole Red location will replace the current Opry Originals store at 300 Lower Broadway. The building will undergo a $20 million renovation and will include a rooftop bar, a stage for live karaoke, a private event space and restaurant. This makes the project the most expensive on Broadway since the addition of the Bridgestone Arena in 1996.

The Tishomingo location will be a smaller-scale business, which will open later this year. It will likely be in the same spot as Miranda Lambert's former bed-and-breakfast, which he bought last year. The Nashville Ole Red location is set to open sometime in Spring 2018.

Shelton's Nashville endeavor follows the opening of Alan Jackson's AJ's Good Time Bar and Dierks Bentley's soon-to-open Whiskey Row.
