Old Dominion Goes 'Back to the Future’ in New Video

Old Dominion drew inspiration from its favorite 1980s movie in the video of the band's new single, "Break Up With Him".

The retro mini-movie was filmed at the Masonic Lodge in downtown Nashville, Tenn., but the scenery looks like it was pulled straight from the silver screen of yesteryear.

"I was trying to do an Eighties video, a parody of The Breakfast Club, Back to the Future and a whole bunch of things messed up," director Steve Condon told Rolling Stone Country. "But Old Dominion was obsessed with Back to the Future and they wanted to do it."

Lead singer Matt Ramsey takes the role of Marty McFly, stealing the belle of the "Entanglement Above the Heavens" dance away from Biff, played by keyboardist Trevor Rosen. The band even managed to find a DeLorean, which it rented from a couple in South Carolina and rigged up to look like Doc Brown's classic time machine. The video is cleverly done and good-humored -- definitely worth a few watches just to see all the crazy costuming and hilarious acting from each band member.

Old Dominion is currently out on the road, playing both solo shows and opening for select dates of Kenny Chesney's The Big Revival Tour. You can check out a full list of tour dates at the band's official website.
