SJM Concerts, the promoter behind Oasis' hugely successful 2025 reunion tour, has secured a license to stage concerts at Knebworth Park in Stevenage.
The approval from North Hertfordshire Council has fueled ongoing speculation that the Britpop legends could return to the iconic venue as part of a rumored 2027 tour.
Oasis' Knebworth Return Moves a Step Closer
The new license gives SJM Concerts the ability to plan and stage events at Knebworth Park.
According to reports, the permit allows concerts with crowds of up to 125,000 people, while live music events can continue until 3 a.m.
The license reportedly took effect immediately and remains valid indefinitely.
While the approval could pave the way for a future Oasis return, it also covers other artists promoted by SJM.
The company has previously organized concerts for acts including The Prodigy, Take That and many others.
No Oasis shows have been officially announced, but the license has intensified speculation that the band could make a long-awaited return to Knebworth.
This year marks 30 years since Oasis' legendary 1996 concerts at the venue.
The two shows sold out in less than 24 hours, drawing 250,000 fans across one of the most iconic weekends in British music history.
2027 Comeback Rumors Continue to Build
Reports suggest that around 2.6 million people attempted to buy tickets for the 1996 concerts.
Demand was so overwhelming that Oasis reportedly could have sold out Knebworth 20 times over.
The performances later inspired a live album, while the band's 25th anniversary documentary became the UK's highest-grossing documentary film of 2021.
Speculation has continued to grow that Oasis will return to the UK and Europe in 2027, with reports suggesting a 12-night residency in their hometown of Manchester.
A return to Knebworth has also featured heavily in those rumors.
The Sun previously reported that Oasis could play six nights at the venue across a three-week period in September 2027.
Liam Gallagher most recently returned to Knebworth as a solo artist in 2022, performing to approximately 170,000 fans across two sold-out nights.
