Reps for the actress told numerous outlets about her death, although TMZ was the first to report on it. The exact nature of the illness hasn't been disclosed.

Delano's most famous role would be Sergeant Barbara Semanski, in Northern Exposure. She played the character from 1991 to 1995, joining the show in the second season. She'd appear in 12 episodes, which was enough to gain traction.

She enjoyed an extensive career and continued acting until 2024 when she was part of three movies. It's a shame her time as an actress was cut so short.

People may recognize her from films such as The Wicker Man, The Ladykillers, and Popular.

Alongside acting in movies, Delano enjoyed many roles as a voice actress, appearing in We Bare Bears, Ben 10: Omniverse, and American Dad! among others. Her acting credits also extend to video games, where she played roles in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Dead Rising 3, and Lego DC Super-Villains.

Delano may not have been a superstar, but she was awarded for her efforts. In 2012, she won an Indie Series Award for her supporting role in Fumbling Thru the Pieces, a made-for-TV film.

Diane Delano Mourned By Fans

Delano's fans have taken to X to share in their grief over their loss.

"RIP Diane Delano who I remember very fondly as Ms. Glass on Ryan Murphy's first series," one writes.

"Just heard the news that Diane Delano has died. I am actually heart broken," grieves another.

"OH MY GOD I'm gutted," one starts to say, "Her role as Bobbi Glass in Popular was ICONIC. I'm so sad I will never see her pop up randomly in another movie or TV show I'm watching."

The actress had an extensive career and will sorely be missed by those who adored her. She was taken far too soon.
