According to a report by People, Police arrested Robin Deaton, 52, on Wednesday, February 26. She is facing attempted murder and kidnapping charges. Deaton allegedly argued with her boyfriend and subsequently locked him in a unit at the Cooper Storage Facility. The man, who police have not named, was stuck inside the unit since February 20. Police confirmed he had no food or water the entire time.

According to WBTV, police believe the couple had an argument outside the storage unit. Deaton allegedly asked her boyfriend to grab something from the back of the unit. It was reportedly so full that he had to climb over several objects to get the item she wanted. However, once he reached the back of the unit, Deaton reportedly pulled down the shutter and locked him inside.

The Boyfriend Lost His Phone Inside The Storage Unit

Per an interview with WBTV, LT. Morgan Malone said, "This is bizarre. In 15 years, I've not seen anybody who's been locked in a storage unit."

WBTV also revealed a recording of the 911 call. The dispatcher asks what the emergency is, and the man wearily replies, "I've been locked in a storage unit for about a week now. And I just now found my phone." The dispatcher asked if he required Emergency Services to check him out. The boyfriend responds, "I just need out of here. I just can't breathe, I haven't had nothing to drink or anything." The man also explains that his girlfriend installed a second lock on the unit.

The man reportedly lost his phone inside the unit and couldn't find it as it was pitch black inside. Police described the storage holding as a 'hoarders paradise.'

Malone says police forced their way into the storage unit four days after his girlfriend locked him inside. Authorities reportedly took him to the hospital for dehydration, but Malone says the outcome would be 'entirely different' had this happened in the heat of summer.

The company's owner was reportedly shocked to learn someone was locked in, as they checked the units daily and never heard anything.
