A North Carolina teenager has been accused of fatally shooting her parents and grandmother in a case that has shocked the local community.

Star Grant, 16, and Devan Loving, 28, have both been charged with first-degree murder.
Grant's parents and grandmother were found dead with gunshot wounds on May 7.
North Carolina Shooting Investigation Leads Police Across State Lines
According to the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office, deputies were carrying out a welfare check after receiving calls of concern.
When officers arrived at the family home in Fairview, they discovered the bodies of Travis Eugene Grant, 41, Kimberly Michelle Grant, 42, and Sharon Harwood Grant, 66.
Authorities said all three victims had suffered gunshot wounds, while Star Grant was missing from the property.
Investigators later received information suggesting the teenager was in the Gatlinburg, Tennessee area alongside Devan Loving.
Working with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Gatlinburg Police Department, officers located Grant and Loving at around 6:00 AM on Saturday.
"Our Detectives travelled to Gatlinburg to interview the suspects," a statement reads. "Information received during those interviews led to First Degree Murder and Felony Conspiracy to Commit Murder charges."
"They will face an extradition hearing in Tennessee before being brought to Buncombe County."
Police Reveal Further Details Following Arrests
According to the Citizen Times, Grant and Loving were found inside a hotel room. This was after a vehicle linked to the teenager was reportedly identified outside the building.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed the nature of the relationship between the pair.
Despite being just 16 years old, Star Grant is being charged as an adult alongside Loving.
"We would like to express our condolences to the family of these victims," Buncombe County Sheriff Quentin Miller said. "We would also like to share our gratitude for our team of Patrol Deputies, Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and those leading these teams."
"Most of them have not slept because they have focused on nothing but arriving at this outcome that will hopefully bring closure to those impacted by this tragedy."
Fox Carolina News reported further details. Investigators believe the three victims may have been dead for "several days" before they were discovered.
Star was reportedly adopted by Travis Eugene Grant in 2019.
Relatives of the Grant family also claimed that Star "had been involved with a man who bought her a burner cell phone to talk to her in secret."
Travis had allegedly attempted to file a restraining order against the man. It remains unclear whether that individual was Loving.
