A North Carolina man has beaten extraordinary odds by winning the lottery for the second time in just two years.

Cristien Breton, from Salisbury, landed a $100,000 prize on a scratch-off ticket he purchased last week.
The remarkable win comes just two years after Breton claimed a staggering $2 million prize on another scratch-off ticket in 2024, with lightning seemingly striking twice for the lucky winner.
North Carolina Lottery Winner Plans to Give Back to Community
Rather than keeping all of his latest windfall for himself, Breton said he plans to use some of the money to help underprivileged children prepare for the upcoming school year.
"I could not believe it happened again," Breton told WCNC.
"I've been very lucky. I want to help take care of the community. It feels awesome. I am definitely blessed."
Breton reportedly took home around $72,000 from his latest $100,000 prize after state and federal taxes.
His first lottery victory was considerably larger. After winning $2 million in 2024, Breton reportedly walked away with $856,006.
He used part of that life-changing sum to support his mother, an experience that appears to have inspired him to continue paying his good fortune forward.
Breton's latest winning ticket came from the $100,000 Cash Payday game, an instant scratch-off offered by the North Carolina Education Lottery.
Dozens of $100,000 Lottery Prizes Remain Unclaimed
While Breton quickly realized he had struck lucky for a second time, plenty of other major prizes are apparently still waiting to be claimed.
According to WCNC, the game features more than 80 prizes worth $100,000, with 56 reportedly still unclaimed.
Breton's latest success adds another lottery victory to Rowan County, which received $7.7 million in lottery proceeds from the state government in 2025.
His remarkable run of luck began in 2024 when he purchased his $2 million winning ticket from Fast Stop of East Spencer on Andrews Street in Salisbury.
"The cashier told me to go home and not tell anyone," the lottery winner said at the time. "I put the ticket in the microwave to protect it from my dog."
Despite suddenly finding himself with a seven-figure prize, Breton's thoughts immediately turned to his family.
"The only thing I want to do is help my mom. She deserves this."
Alongside supporting his mother, Breton planned to use some of his first windfall to make repairs to his home.
