No That's No Santa! Massachusetts Man Got Stuck Inside Chimney While Hiding From Cops

It's December! So is that Santa Claus I hear coming down my chimney? No, sorry to bust your holiday bubble, but it's actually a Massachusetts man.

Rather than bringing gifts for all the good little boys and girls, the man was trying to evade the cops. I have to give him an award for ingenuity!

Officers with the Fall River Police Department attempted to raid the home of the man. However, sensing the raid, the man and another fled the home via rooftop. From there, one jumped from the roof to the ground. The other, Robert Langlias, decided to hop down the chimney instead, pulling his best Santa Claus impression.

"[One man] invoked the essence of the seasonal icon and attempted to hide inside of a chimney," police said in a statement. "[He] quickly became stuck in the chimney and required the assistance of the very detectives he was previously fleeing."

Not Santa Claus

Unfortunately, going down a chimney isn't as easy as Santa Claus makes it seem. Langlias quickly got stuck and need the help from police to get free. It required the officers to gout on the rooftops themselves.

"You're an idiot," said an officer looking down at the would-be criminal. Officers ended up having to call the fire department to come rescue the man. It sounds like a whole ordeal, and Santa Claus would be quite ashamed.

"Get me out of here, bro!" Langlias told the officers. It's a cruel twist of fate really. Firefighters ended up having to basically take the chimney apart brick by brick. I'm sure it's a story that no one involved will ever quite forget.

"Due to his Santa-antics, Langlias was transported to a local hospital out of precaution and was medically cleared," police said.

Apparently, the man should have followed his friend's lead instead. That individual jumped from the roof to a car and then fled into the night. I guess he graduated from the Grinch school of booking it.

As for Langlias, he's likely to make the naughty list this year. Police charged him with possession of Class A drugs, possession of Class B drug, and other crimes.
