NICU Nurse Faces New Charges After Breaking Newborn's Limbs

Early January, the Henrico County Police arrested Strotman for being the prime suspect for these "unexplainable fractures." Multiple infants suffered from bone fractures at Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Virginia. Things took a turn when they allegedly caught Strotman in surveillance footage performing these cruel acts.
The video showed her pushing a baby's legs so far back that they suffered injuries, as reported by the Daily Mail. Then, on Monday, March 10, the grand jury put six more charges on Strotman. These include four charges of child abuse and two of malicious wounding.
The charges relate to three babies only identified as Y.H., L.M-B., and A.V., according to court documents the outlet obtained. Shockingly, these aren't the only charges she will probably face. While these are just three infants whom she allegedly injured in 2024, there are four other baby injuries police are investigating from 2023.
On top of that, we now know that there are at least eight infants who suffered fractured limbs. Shannon Taylor, Henrico County Commonwealth's Attorney, revealed in a briefing that one of the babies involved in these latest charges wasn't even included in the initial seven babies, as reported by WRIC.
"We made a promise to these families that we would continue to work on this matter," said Taylor. "I intend on us to keep that promise."
The attorney representing the family of baby L.M-B, Lee Livingston, explained just how difficult this has been for the parents. "It's agonizing for the parents to wait and watch," Livingston said to WRIC. "They never dreamed they would be in this world — but at the same time, it's very good to see it progressing."
Unfortunately, baby L.M-B suffered such severe injuries that every limb broke. The good news is that this baby is in therapy for his injuries, but it shouldn't have had to come to this in the first place.
