Jessi Pierce's Coworkers Have Also Paid Tribute to the NHL Reporter
Before becoming an NHL writer, Pierce studied at Iowa State University. She was also a writer for the Minnesota Wild hockey team. Her work with the Wild had her featured in several major publications.
Michael Russo, a reporter for The Athletic and her former colleague, wrote about their friendship in a post on X.
"Jessi Pierce was the most vibrant person—the life of the party... always bringing a passion to every article and podcast and interview she did. Jessi simply loved covering the Wild and hockey throughout Minnesota and had a way of brightening everyone's day with her upbeat, bubbly personality. I have literally NEVER met anybody that had a way of being EVERYBODY's friend," he wrote in the touching statement.
May she and her three young children rest in peace. What a tragic loss for the hockey community and beyond.
