Brock Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, has been handed down a hefty suspension from the NFL.
Rechsteiner, who is a wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints, will be suspended for six games. According to a Thursday (August 6)
Schefter says that Rechsteiner's suspension will not begin until the NFL regular season starts. However, Rechsteiner is still "eligible to participate in all preseason activities including games." Schefter also noted that the suspension would officially begin when "rosters are reduced to 53 players."
Of course, the news led to a firestorm of reactions on social media.
"Rechsteiner only averaged 30 y/g last year for Jacksonville State. He will be cut by the Saints soon," one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Six games before your rookie season really starts is a brutal way to begin an NFL career," a second user chimed in.
"Well, if this doesn't work out for him, at least he can go join Bron Breakker in the WWE," a third user remarked.
One thing to consider is that the son of the WWE Hall of Famer is an undrafted rookie. Meaning that there is no guarantee to make the final 53-man roster.
New Orleans now knows that if they give him a spot on the official roster, they will be without him for the first six games of the regular season. This means Brock will really have to impress the coaches. With the opportunities that he receives in training camp and preseason games.
Brock comes from a long line of star athletes in the Steiner bloodline. Even apart from his Hall of Fame dad.
His brother, Bronson Rechsteiner, better known as Bron Breakker, is one of the biggest stars in the WWE. He is one half of the RAW tag team champions. Bronson also had a brief stint in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens. It will be interesting to see if Brock is the next Steiner to transition from the NFL to WWE.
