NFL Star Stopped by Cops for Third Time in Three Months

The NFL star had previously had encounters with cops for traffic violations as well as a battery case which is still ongoing.

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has faced the latest in several run-ins with cops. As reported by the New York Post, the NFL star was pulled over on July 6 by the Davie Police Department in Florida.

Body cam footage shows the police officer approaching a 2025 silver Aston Martin. He accused Smith of going 25mph over the speed limit near his Davie mansion.

The footage also shows the officer reprimanding the NFL star. "Alright sir," the officer said. "Beautiful car - seventy miles per hour, man, that's too fast for 45."

When he asked Smith for his license, he said, "I live right here, my license and everything is in my house." He also revealed that the car wasn't his, but in fact a friend's.

The officer warned him to always carry a physical ID on him at all times, to which he responded, "My bad." Following this incident, he was given two citations.

One was for unlawful speed, and the other was for not carrying his license. But luckily, he was allowed to leave the scene without any further action.

The NFL Star Has a History of Being Stopped

But this isn't the first time the NFL quarterback has been stopped by cops for traffic violation.

His first issue came in April, where Smith got pulled over for allegedly driving a Rolls Royce without the proper tags. And his second police encounter came from an allegation that he had "beat up" a woman in June.

The April incident got pretty heated between the two parties. He repeatedly questioned the police officer's conduct, and even bragged, "I've got a lot of cars, fam. I probably switched the tag on the cars."

He also told the police officer to do his job better.

The incident in June involved a woman alleging the NFL star had beat her up after a "heated dispute."

As we reported on when it happened, a woman named Kristen alleged what happened on social media. "GENO SMITH beat my ass cause he HATES taking care of his special needs kid and can't be left alone with him. Because he'd rather watch s*x online and play Call of Duty."

The investigation remains ongoing.
