The former Bengals and Texans running back revealed that he flew on the same aircraft with the same crew shortly before the horrific crash.

Mixon said that he was saddened to hear of the crash in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

"Absolutely devastated by yesterday's tragic plane crash in Florida and the loss of all nine lives. I flew on that exact aircraft last month with those same two pilots," he wrote. "They were incredible professionals and genuinely wonderful people. Hearing the young woman's story and learning about the bright future she had ahead of her makes it even more heartbreaking that her life was cut so short."

"My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to the grieving families and loved ones of everyone on board. A tragic reminder of how fragile life is. Love on your loved ones while you can. You never know what tomorrow may bring," the former OU standout added.

Private Aircraft Crashes and Explodes in Florida

The Bahamas-bound aircraft was flying through a storm when it suddenly stalled, causing it to plummet from nearly 40,000 feet, according to the New York Post. The private aircraft crashed and exploded on Nov. 1 near a trailer park in Palm Beach County.

"I heard and felt the boom," Andrew Mannino, a Palm Beach County resident, told CNN. "The power immediately went out." Mannino added that the area became covered in smoke.

NTSB board member Tom Chapman said on Tuesday that pieces of the aircraft are still being collected.

"Yesterday, the majority of the aircraft's left elevator was located in three pieces within a range about 1.3 to 3.8 miles away from the accident site. Those items are being retained for analysis." Chapman said.

"Some pieces of the aircraft," he added, "important pieces of the aircraft, separated before the impact."

The passengers of the Learjet 60 were traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas before the crash.
