The San Francisco 49ers have yet another PR issue to deal with. According to TMZ, star offensive tackle Trent Williams is being sued by OpenRoad Auto Group. The lawsuit alleges that Williams is 46 months late for his 48-month car lease.

Williams allegedly agreed to the lease for a 2018 Porsche 911, made the first two payments and then closed the account where the payments were coming from. Since then, Williams has allegedly made no further paymnents toward the vehicle.
"The car's whereabouts remain unknown," The New York Post reports. "It was reported that Williams sold the car to a car company, which sold it to someone else despite not having the valid title to it."
Accoeding to OpenRoad, Williams lease for the Porsche expired in August 2025. Therefore, the company is now suing the NFL star for breach of contract. They're reportedly seeking approximately $244,199, which includes missed paymanets, attorney's fees, litigation costs and other charges.
The strange part about this situation is that Williams has earned a significant amount throughout his career. According to Spotrac, Williams career earnings to date sits around $218 million. Futhermore, he recently signed a two-year deal with the 49ers worth another $50 million
Trent Williams Has Enjoyed a Stellar NFL Career
Williams entered the NFL in 2010. He was drafted by the Washington Commanders with the 4th overall pick. During his tenure with the Commanders, Williams made seven consecutive Pro Bowl teams. He was also voted into the All-Pro second team in 2015.
After spending nine seasons in Washington, Williams made the move to the West Coast. He's been a key part of the 49ers offense ever since. While with the 49ers, Williams has been an ever-present Pro Bowl selection, making the team in five of his six seasons in San Francisco.
Fuerthermore, Williams made three consecutive All-Pro First Teams between 2021 and 2023. He finished last season as an All-Pro Second Team selection, too.
For his career, Williams has played in 204 regular-season games, starting 203. The 49ers will undoubtedly hope their star offensive tackle can resolve his current legal issues ahead of the new season. After all, they'll need Williams focused and ready to go as they look to put a tumultuous offseason behind them.
