Another athlete has just dropped off a fresh conspiracy theory. This time it's New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye.

Drake Maye Questions If Moon Landing Happened

During a Monday appearance on WEEI, the NFL QB Maye was grilled by the host about which conspiracies he believes in. And that star quarterback revealed that he questions whether the United States actually landed on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969.

"Wow... let me try not to get too controversial," he said (via New York Post). "I don't know about the moon, you know. I think I can see back in the day why we would put on the mask if we went there, but I'm not really sure 200 percent if we went there or not."

The Patriots star later clarified that he was not "leaning one way or the other." But he is a "little bit skeptical" about the validity of the event.

The former Tar Heel quarterback backed his claim by revealing that he took a conspiracy class while attending the University of North Carolina. He added that he thought the class "was pretty cool." The class covered long-running theories such as "Hitler being alive" and "Are birds real?"

Of course, Maye's comments went viral, and social media users reacted as you might expect.

"Raise your hand if you saw us land a man on the moon in person with your own two eyes. Didn't think so. Normal take. Find a new slant," one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"This is the type of take where, if you hear it from a wide receiver, you're smashing the over on catches every game. Hearing it from a quarterback though... bro's gonna be outta the league," a second user chimed in.

"NASA spent years planning the mission. Drake Maye has requested a booth review," a third user remarked.

Maye and the Patriots will look to improve to 3-2 in their next game against the Las Vegas Raiders. They are currently a game behind the top-seeded Buffalo Bills in the AFC East.
