San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested over the weekend. The team's head coach, Kyle Shanahan, and star linebacker, Fred Warner, spoke out about the incident yesterday.

Why Was the Owner of the San Francisco 49ers Arrested?
As reported by PEOPLE, York was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of criminal tools in East Palestine, Ohio. According to the state's law, the latter charge could include "possession or control of any substance, device, instrument, or article designed or specially adapted for criminal use."
The 46-year-old NFL owner was initially charged with engaging in prostitution. It was later amended to disorderly conduct. Court records show York pleaded no contest to the two misdemeanor charges on Monday, Aug. 24.
York was ordered to serve a single day in jail for both charges. However, he was given a one-day credit for time served. He was also ordered to pay fines of $1,000 and $150.
"As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time," a spokesperson for the San Francisco 49ers said on Monday.
Coach Kyle Shanahan Spoke About the Incident
Shanahan was asked about York's arrest yesterday, Aug. 25, during the team's media day. PEOPLE reported that the coach did not think the incident would be a distraction for the team this season.
"From a football standpoint, it has no effect on us," said Shanahan. "It hasn't been mentioned in a meeting today. It doesn't have to do with what happens on the field. Everything outside of there, I think you guys [the media] can judge that better than me."
Warner shared his coach's sentiment, calling York's situation "personal."
"I think the team is kind of the same way," he said. "Like, it really wasn't a conversation being had in the locker room. Of course, yeah, you notice it, but at the same time, we're still hyper-focused in this building of trying to prepare for Week 1."
Shanahan then talked about how his car accident last month affected the San Francisco 49ers' training camp.
"I don't think [York's arrest] pertained to our players much," he said. "Me getting in a car accident, I think that's kind of a joke that people think that that's a distraction to our team. So I think it's been training camp as usual."
