Ahman Green, the Green Bay Packers' all-time leading rusher, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Green, 49, announced the news during an interview on the "Go Long With Tyler Dunne" podcast, where he discussed his post-playing-career lifestyle.
"I had a little bit of the feet twitching when I'm in my sleep and stuff like that," Green said. "I mean, I knew something was going on long before that. Just got a hold of some doctors [and] was able to get in contact with and get the diagnostics, get the testing, and finally got it tested."
Green said that he was diagnosed in January 2025, and that the disease has negatively impacted his short-term memory.
"I've got to remind myself of things," he said. "When I meet somebody for the first time, it's like a name, I hear that name, then I repeat it. I try to repeat it or write it down. And if I don't, I've got to follow up with them."

Although Green was diagnosed 18 months ago, he only shared the news with his family and friends before his viral interview.
"I didn't share it for a long time because I wanted to let my kids know, my family," Green said. "I let them all know first before I told friends, family, somebody like yourself."
To help combat the disease, Green said that he exercises regularly, eats healthy and takes medication.
Green holds the Packers records for career rushing yards (8,322), single-season rushing yards (1,883 in 2003) and rushing yards in a game (218 against the Broncos in 2003).
Brett Favre, a longtime teammate of Green who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2024, said that he hopes to connect with his fellow Packers alum soon.
According to TMZ Sports, Favre plans to contact his former backfield mate to combat the disease together.
"The amount of head/neurological issues among the former players is staggering!" Favre said.
Parkinson's disease is a movement disorder of the nervous system that worsens over time. In the early stages of Parkinson's disease, your face may show little or no expression. Your arms may not swing when you walk. Your speech may become soft or slurred, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for the disease.
