Everything about football screams toughness. It's a game of inches for a reason. Every possession involves hard hits, bravery and feats of impressive athleticism. So, you can imagine the confusion when the NFL appointed its first-ever "Chief Kindness Officer" on January 29.

Dhar Mann is a viral content creator, producing videos about how to treat one another. Their videos generate millions of views and countless well-wishing comments. Mann is who the NFL has selected as their kindness officer.
Of course, the majority of the NFL and football fans in general don't appear to be too pleased with the league's decision.
"Chief Kindness Officer sounds like something that your Kindergartener would get chosen for. And you end up having to bring cupcakes for the class," one user wrote on X.
Another user questioned whether Mann would now be creating feel-good football content on their platform.
"Dhar Mann as NFL Chief Kindness Officer is wild. Can't wait for the episode: 'Star quarterback trash-talks opponent... what happens next will shock you,'" the user wrote. "Spoiler: he apologizes, they hug it out, and everyone learns that kindness wins championships."
While another user summed things up perfectly, pointing out the physicality and violent nature of the sport itself.
"This is a league where 300lbs men, that run 4.75s 40 yard dashes try to maim each other on every play...it needs a Chief Rudeness Officer. I nominate Brian Dawkins," the user joked.
It's fair to say that the NFL's decision to appoint a 'Chief Kindness Officer' was met with anything but kindness.
The NFL Is Set To Debut in Paris Next Season
While the 'Chief Kindness Officer' may have been a tone-deaf misstep, there's no denying that business for the NFL is booming. America's favorite sport is rapidly gaining international appeal. According to The Daily Mail, the league is set on continuing the expansion of its fanbase and plans to debut in Paris, France, next season.
"It was announced on Monday that the NFL will be playing its first-ever regular-season game in Paris during the 2026 season, bringing the sport to France for the first time," the Daily Mail reported.
International games have been a huge success for the league in recent years. Therefore, making the trip to Paris is a smart call. The more fans that get to experience the joy of watching a game live, the better it is for the growth of the sport.
