Pamela Alcantara was just 26-years old. She lived in the Bronx, on the fifth floor of her Fordham Heights building with her ex-boyfriend. However, her family shared that Alcantara was planning on moving out of the apartment without him.

Alcantara spoke with her family fairly frequently and last spoke to her mother early on Sunday, according to NY Post. Furthermore, her family admitted to News 12 that they grew suspicious when Alcantara was scheduled to lead a church service but never appeared.

From there, her family considered her missing. They "plastered her photos outside the Morris Avenue and East 182 Street apartment and prayed for her safe return." However, they did not recieve the ending they were hoping for.

Rather than finding her alive and well, the woman was found dead stuffed into a suitcase. The NY Post shares that police discovered the "luggage off the Saw Mill River Parkway near Yonkers Avenue and Palmer Road in Yonkers around 9:50 a.m.."

Security footage from her building shows Alcantara entering the elevator of her building, but never leaving the building. Currently, her ex-boyfriend is a person of interest after a "license plate reader caught his car near where her body was discovered."

Charges were pending against him Thursday night, however no specifics have released. Alcantara's family is devastated. They shared, "She was only 26 years old and had her whole life ahead of her."
