TMZ received two more alleged ransom notes on April 6. They claim to know Nancy Guthrie's location and her kidnapper.
What Do These New Ransom Notes Say?
According to the New York Post, the latest notes came from the same anonymous person who previously demanded one bitcoin for information regarding Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping on Feb. 1.
"We got another letter today from this person, an email saying, 'I know where her body is, and who the kidnapper is, give me half a bitcoin, and I'll tell you,'" said TMZ Live host Harry Levin on the air on Monday.
The note also claimed that Nancy was dead.
After the first note was discussed, another from the same sender arrived.
"I saw her alive with them in the state of Sonora, Mexico," the note said, per the outlet. TMZ said it has alerted the FBI.
These Notes Are "A Scam"
The sender of these ransom notes states they will surrender the information for half a bitcoin. The other half should be transferred when an arrest is made.
Levin said the sender has been "persistent," despite the fact that they risk being charged with misleading law enforcement.
"It's unbelievable that millions have been wasted and yet here I am willing to deliver them on a silver platter since the 11th of february for a bitcoin but I am disregarded as a scam ... they are free and the case is frozen but the egos remain hot when it comes to me," reads the first ransom note. "Arrogance at its finest."
The sender adds they had no role in Nancy's kidnapping and are not motivated by greed.
They claim they "just want whats fair and to live peacefully with enough to start my life again quietly with out having to join a witness protection program."
Amid these ongoing developments, the Pima County Sheriff's Department remains involved and has acknowledged the notes.
A spokesperson said, "All tips and leads are being taken seriously and are forwarded directly to our detectives, who are coordinating with the FBI."
Savannah Guthrie made no mention of the kidnapping when she made her return to TODAY.
