New Details In The Drama Surrounding The Who And Zak Starkey

What's going on with Zak Starkey? I don't think anyone knows. After being let go twice from The Who, he's hit social media again to add another layer of confusion to the whole affair.

Last month, it was revealed that Zak Starkey had been let go from The Who. At the time, Starkey admitted to feeling a little mythed about being let go. There was noise and speculation that he was let go due to 'over performing' at a recent gig.

Only a couple weeks after, however, he was rehired, only to be let go again.

So you'd think Starkey would be on bad terms with the legendary band that he'd been drumming with for 29 years. Well, he got on a phone call with Roger Daltrey, where they seemed to square away the tension and gain a new perspective on the matter.

Well, in a manner of speaking, anyway.

Starkey, in usual fashion, made a post to Instagram. There, he shared that he is remaining friends with Daltrey and the band. And apparently, they are as confused about the matter as each other.

"NOISE&CONFUSION!!!!" he began the post with. "I had a great phone chat with Roger at the end of last week which truly confused both of us!!!"

Zak Starkey Sets The Record... Straight?

"Rog said I hadn't been 'fired'...I had been 'retired' to work n my own projects," he relayed.

"I explained to Rog that I have just spent nearly 8 weeks at my studio in Jamaica completing these projects, that my group Mantra Of The Cosmos was releasing one single at the beginning of June and after that had run its course ( usually 5/6 weeks ) I was completely available for the foreseeable future...." he wrote.

"Rog said 'Oh!' and we kind of left it there- On good terms and great friends as we have always been," Starkey continued.

"Gotta love these guys. As my mum used to say 'The mind boggles!!!' XXX."

So... they're on good terms again, I suppose. The situation has been very messy, but it looks like everything is now dandy. I'm unsure if Starkey will go back again to play with The Who, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did.
