November is a pretty slow month for new singles hitting country radio, but there are plenty of big albums slated for release in the next few weeks. Let’s take a look at the new country albums coming out in November 2017.
Blake Shelton surprised fans with the announcement of his new record in late September. Due out the first week of November, Shelton recorded it on the shores of Lake Texoma, which is why it earned the name. His first single “I’ll Name The Dogs” is already in the top 10 on country radio and is pretty much vintage Shelton.
This will be an interesting one. Kelsea Ballerini is one of country’s breakout artists and her debut album The First Time was a monster at country radio. Now she’s looking to avoid the “sophomore slump” on Unapologetically, an album that looks like it’ll be equal parts anthemic, nostalgic and poppy. As with her first record, Ballerini co-wrote every track on the album.
Lee Brice has his fourth album coming up. The singer waited more than three years after 2014’s I Don’t Dance, which produced some of the most successful songs of his career. Lead single “Boy” is a nice tribute to his kids.
Kid Rock recently said his flirtation with running for the U.S. Senate was just a joke, which makes sense since he’s got a new record coming out. It seems like Rock has no plans to abandon his adopted southern sounds, long since abandoning his Detroit rap days. Sweet Southern Sugar is his first record recorded in Nashville and released under BMG/Broken Bow Records.
Meghan Linsey first rose to prominence as half of the duo Steel Magnolia. After the group broke up, she pursued a solo career. That included a run on NBC’s The Voice, and now she’s got her first proper solo record coming out.
Tracy Lawrence decided to do something different when it came time for a greatest hits record. He invited some friends to record new duet versions of his songs. Guests include Jason Aldean, Luke Combs, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw and Craig Morgan.
This one isn’t technically a new album, but it’s worth mentioning. He’s releasing a five-part autobiography, and each installment comes with music from those years. But the coolest part is the CD also has demos, unreleased versions and other goodies that hardcore Garth fans will love.
This album is essentially the culmination of years of planning and hype. When Tim and Faith announced their latest Soul2Soul World Tour, everybody felt like there was more to come, and there definitely was. The Rest Of Our Life is the pair’s first ever duets album, as hard as that is to imagine, and also features songs that they wrote together for the first time ever.
