Witnesses' 911 calls have been obtained by The Post, with callers pleading with emergency responders to hurry to assist Spann, whose left arm was "dangling off."
"Somebody got bit by an alligator, I think her arm got bit -- it's dangling off," a woman can be heard telling the operator in two desperate emergency calls obtained by The Post.
"She lost half an arm," the woman continued.
Spann can be heard screaming in pain in a second 911 call while a man tells the operator they are near Silver River.
"Her arm is gone," the man said.
The horrific alligator attack occurred on Aug. 8 near Miami.
Mother Provides Health Update After Devastating Alligator Attack in Florida
Spann provided a health update on Facebook on Sept. 11 alongside a video of her gruesome arm injuries.
"Recovery isn't always pretty, but I'm learning to laugh through the hard parts and celebrate every little victory," she wrote.
"The gator got a piece of me. It didn't get the best of me."
Her son, Zach Guerrina, previously told The Post that his mom bravely fought back against the gator.
"She wasn't just letting it happen," he said. "She was trying to hold its mouth shut, swimming to the top to get a breath of fresh air and keep it from biting on her legs."
"It had her but she said she was trying to make sure it didn't get to her legs."
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) hired trappers to remove a 9-foot, 8-inch alligator the day after the attack. The river was later reopened to the public.
Alligator sightings are incredibly common in Florida, but residents should do their best to avoid the vicious swamp creatures.
Alligators have the strongest bite force measured: 2000 pounds per square inch. For comparison, lions bite with 600 pounds of pressure, and humans have 120 pounds of pressure per square inch.
Alligators largely inhabit swamps and other wetlands, and are more common in America's southeastern region.
