The Moment Traumatized Ruby Rose

The Orange Is the New Black actress talked about the shocking moment on a recent episode of Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe.

The 40-year-old Australian said she was 15 when she found an injured four-year-old boy at a nearby playground while at a party with her mom in bushland. She was smoking her first cigarette with a friend when she thought she saw a doll on the playground slide.

"My friend and I locked eyes, and we started walking towards it. As we got close enough, we could tell this was a real human," said Rose. "There was blood coming out of his ear, nose, mouth. It was very traumatic."

She picked up the child and brought him inside. The adults performed CPR. He was still breathing when an ambulance arrived to take him to the hospital, and Rose believed she had saved his life.

"I got a call saying that he probably wouldn't be okay, that they were keeping him on a machine and it didn't look great. I just sent love to the family," said Rose.

However, Rose said doctors later pulled him off life support because he "was brain dead for so long." He didn't make it.

The Police Arrived

The next day, the police came to question Rose at her high school. The other kids taunted her over the incident.

"People were like, 'Baby killer!' I was breaking down," she said.

According to Rose, the child's older brother witnessed the death and had suffered "dissociative amnesia" after it happened. He then began to remember and told police the death had been an accident.

She said "He went back to the police and, thank goodness, told them, because they didn't think it was me anyway, but that doesn't always happen. He remembered, and I was cleared, but [the child's mother] still didn't want me at the funeral. So everyone went except me."

Earlier this year, Rose accused Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her at a nightclub. Last month, she shared alleged texts from deceased actress Hayden Panettiere about her estranged mother, Lesley Vogel.
