‘Neighbours’ and ‘Sons And Daughters’ Star Dead at 90, Co-Star Son Pays Tribute

The Australian soap opera legend is most well known for his role in 'Neighbours', where he co-starred alongside his son.

Neighbours star Terence Donovan has passed away at the age of 90. As reported by The Mirror, the legendary Australian actor passed away over the weekend in Melbourne.

His son and Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan took to social media to announce his passing. "It is with great sadness but also a sense of celebration of a long, full life that myself and my brother Paul announce our father Terence died peacefully last night here in Melbourne," he wrote.

"Obviously this is an extremely emotional time and we ask you to respect our privacy." They went on to thank all the staff at the hospital where he tragically passed. Donovan revealed the staff at Cabrini Hospital "looked after" Terence.

He then went on to describe his father in a touching tribute. "Our dad was a huge character. Larger than life. He was our best friend, our world. We will desperately miss him but we take comfort knowing we were all here by his side in his final days."

Terence Donovan was most well known for playing alongside his son, Jason Donovan, on the iconic Australian soap Neighbours. He played Scott Robinson's father, Doug Willis. He also played in another legendary Australian show Sons And Daughters.

His latest appearance was in 2022, where he reprised his role as Doug Willis.

Tributes Pour in for the 'Neighbours' Star

Tributes have poured in for the legendary Australian actor.

Fans were quick to point out his status as a true legend. "He seemed to be in every Australian tv prog back in the day," one commenter wrote, with another revering him as "an Australian household name" when they were growing up.

One commenter lamented that they had "literally just been watching Classic Neighbours recently" and were saddened to hear of the loss, with another also saying they were "only watching him and Pam in Neighbours last night" and that they "loved his character".

Other fans shared their condolences toward Terence's family. One commenter lamented, "thinking of Jason, his son," with another saying, "Awww thinking of Jason & family."
