Y'all might be a little distracted by a hurricane in the gulf, but guess what? Not only is today Friday, it's National Banana Split Day. Blue Bell released a new Banana Split Sundae flavor of ice cream just for the occasion.
Blue Bell announced the flavor would hit stores today, and it looks ah-mazing! Banana Split Blue Bell starts with banana ice cream. They mixed in crushed pineapples, maraschino cherries, and almonds. To make it even better, there's a chocolate AND strawberry swirl.
Pardon me while I wipe the drool off my chin.
I know what y'all are thinking and yes, the high likelihood that your power will go out gives you the perfect excuse to eat an entire pint of this deliciousness. (It comes in pints!) It also comes in the standard half gallon though, for people with big families or big appetites, or those who live far enough inland.
Blue Bell is a staple of every Texan's diet. Many of us thought we'd die having to live through the summer of 2015 without it. Thankfully they finally came back better than ever, and have steadily been re-releasing the old favorite flavors.
Blue Bell recently released several mouth-watering new flavors like Ice Cream Cone, which has chocolate-covered sugar cone pieces (YUM!). They also came out with Sweet n' Salty Crunch, which is a vanilla ice cream with chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate pieces.
Banana Split Blue Bell will still be available after the hurricane too.
