The noisy moment took place six years before Cobb was ordered to pay $850,000 to her lover's ex-wife.

The Detective Said There Was "No Doubt" What He Was Hearing

The New York Post reports that Jim Rorie testified in court about what he heard behind closed doors at a Comfort Inn in Martinsville, Virginia, in October 2020.

The private detective was hired by the wife of 58-year-old Clayton Odie Hughes, Tracey, who suspected Clayton was having an affair.

Rorie said there was "no doubt" about what he heard between Clayton and the 53-year-old NASCAR driver. He heard "the squeaking of the bed, quite a bit of that, female tones moaning — and occasionally a male's voice."

Rorie went on to say that things "got a little more rambunctious."

"As the squeaking continued, the tones of a male moaning and saying 'Oh f***' and 'Oh my God' were distinctly heard," he added. "I believe there was one point where I heard the female yell, 'Don't stop.'"

Rorie followed Clayton using a tracking device on his car. The detective then booked the room next to Clayton. Cobb arrived an hour later. He put his ear to the wall and said he could hear Clayton and Cobb having sex.

NASCAR Driver Jennifer Jo Cobb Has Been Ordered To Pay Clayton's Ex $850,000

Clayton and Tracey Hughes were married for 17 years before they divorced in 2021. In the suit, Tracey alleged that Cobb "willfully, intentionally, and deliberately seduced, enticed, and alienated the affections" of Clayton. She claims she and Clayton were "happily married" before her ex-husband's affair.

Under Tennessee's "homewrecker law," Cobb must pay Tracey $850,000 in court-ordered damages. It remains unclear how Cobb is expected to pay such a large sum. Cobb does have the option to appeal the verdict, but it is unclear whether she plans to do so.
