Paul Pelosi, the husband of US Representative Nancy Pelosi, is facing charges in relation to a hit-and-run. As reported by People, it occurred in Northern California on July 4.
The Napa County Sheriff's Office confirmed to local outlets that 86-year-old Paul Pelosi was involved in a hit-and-run. It occurred in Yountville, around 10 miles north of Napa.
They noted that Pelosi's husband was alleged to have collided with an unoccupied parked car during a drive. They clarified that the car was parked "legally on the east shoulder of the street."
The car that got hit had some pretty serious damage. Per the police, "[The car] sustained major rear damage and the front right tire struck the road's curb."

Pelosi Said He Didn't See Anything
The police's statement continued, "During the investigation, Pelosi admitted to hitting something, but said he did not know what he had hit, so he kept driving."
"He drove until his car became disabled and was no longer able to continue driving." Authorities didn't give a time scale as to when this was. But given the state of the car that was struck, it could be anywhere from a few minutes to hours.
Police also tested Pelosi to see if he was under the influence of either drugs or alcohol, and the tests came back negative.
He is facing a misdemeanor charge. But, because of California law, he doesn't have to be arrested, as the charge doesn't include injuries.
However, he will have to undergo re-evaluation. Per authorities, "A California DMV re-evaluation referral form will be submitted to the DMV, which is common for elderly drivers." The case itself will be referred to the Napa County District Attorney's Office.
He Was Previously Booked for DUI
But this isn't the first time Nancy Pelosi has been booked for driving-related incidents.
As reported by People, he was arrested back in 2022 for a DUI. He had been found to have a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher after colliding with another vehicle. The incident had happened late at night.
He received five days in jail and three years of probation for the incident.
