A musician has decided to cancel a show in Vancouver, Canada, after suffering a family emergency. Myles Smith was set to perform on August 4. But he unexpectedly canceled the concert.

"To everyone who was planning on coming to the Vancouver show. You may have received a notification that the show has been cancelled. I wanted to explain why, because I never want to leave you in the dark," the musician wrote on his Instagram Stories.
"There has been a major family health issue at home, and important appointments are taking place on that date. I simply can't not be there. Family has to come first, and this wasn't a decision I made lightly," Smith continued.
However, the musician was aware that it may be a major bummer for fans looking to attend the concert. He sent his apologies and promised no other cancellations.
Musician Cancels Performance
"The fact that you continue to show up for me means more than I can put into words, and I never want to take that for granted or lose the trust we've built together," he wrote. "Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and for always supporting me. It truly means the world."
The musician later followed up and said that he wouldn't have canceled the show unless he had to.
"I've already seen some of the frustration and disappointment, and I completely understand it. If you'd booked time off, travelled, or spent money to be there, I'd feel exactly the same," he wrote. "I'm not asking for anybody to feel sorry for me! I just wanted to give you as much information as I could, because I believe that's what you deserve. Whilst trying to maintain the privacy of the circumstances back home."
Smith concluded, "I'm truly sorry and I'll be back as soon as it's feasibly possible. Thank you for continuing to support me. It means more than you'll ever know."
Previously, the musician shared that he had a lot going on in his private life.
"There's a lot going on in my personal life right now. I'll probably talk about it when the time feels right, but for now I'm just trying to take things one day at a time," he continued. "Before I left, the people closest to me told me something I won't forget: don't rob yourself of the dream you've worked so hard for just because life is heavy back home."
