Music legend Barry Manilow has announced that he has cancelled his Las Vegas Residency shows. As reported by Variety, this comes after he made a decisive return to the stage on Thursday.
His show, which was scheduled for Saturday, was set to be held sat the Westgate Resort & Casino's International Theater. A representative for the music legend confirmed the reason behind the cancellation.
"After a triumphant welcome-back concert on Thursday, Barry got hit with bronchitis and had to cancel his Friday and Saturday shows."
This comes after a pretty tumultuous time for the singer. He had previously bowed out from a set of shows back in late August. We reported on it when it happened - he announced to fans that "we're going to take a quick break."
The cancellations came after a "fantastic summer tour". "The shows were fantastic, the audiences were fantastic, and I sounded fantastic... but it seems that we were pushing a little too hard."
He announced that his triumphant return would be at that October 8 residency show.

The Music Legend Did Have a Triumphant Return
However, there's absolutely no doubt that the music legend had a pretty cool return to the stage on October 8.
People were very glad to see him... so much so that they were even throwing their panties at him! In a video of the concert, he is seen introducing himself after his hiatus.
"I'm back!" he triumphantly announced, before sauntering toward... a pair of someone's underwear that had been thrown on stage.
He picked it up with two fingers before shaking his head and proclaiming, "does someone wanna take this to the laundry, or something?", before handing it to a staff member.
But then... they just kept appearing! He jokingly picked the second pair up and pretended to take it with him.
People in the comments section of the video appreciated his sense of humor. One wrote, "He's still got it, I fear,". Others, noting the fact he was gay, asked, "Panties? Isn't the dude gay?"
In any case, we hope that he recovers well from his bronchitis - here's hoping that show had nothing to do with it!
