A music personality might be trying a bit too hard to live up to the gangster icon he swiped his stage name from, toting a rifle into the recording studio.

Indeed, rapper Machine Gun Kelly, real name Colson Baker, was spotted by TMZ stepping into the studio with a rifle slung over his shoulder. The outlet published snapshots of the "FIX UR FACE" wordsmith balancing carrying a firearm with clutching a few books, too. The 36-year-old music personality sported a black leather bomber jacket, matching shorts, and an olive-green ball cap over his bleach-blonde locks. Despite wearing shorts, MGK also wore combat boots.
TMZ reported that the "I Think I'm OKAY" music maker was heading into a recording studio in Hollywood on Oct. 26, clutching his rifle. It's unclear if the artist's firearm was the genuine article or some sort of prop.
Some onlookers might think a guy calling himself Machine Gun Kelly might be trying to back up his moniker. However, back in 2013, MGK claimed he got the stage because he spit his lyrics so fast. You know, Machine Mouth Colson has a ring to it, too...
Still, just lazily adopting the name of an infamous Memphis-born gangster (George Kelly Barnes) probably was the best choice. That said, maybe MGK should lug around the real Machine Gun Kelly's preferred firearm: a Thompson submachine gun.
Machine Gun Kelly Reportedly Previously Picked Up a Famous Actress From the Same Recording Studio
Meanwhile, TMZ reports that the recording studio MGK stepped into, carrying a rifle, was also where he was previously spotted with his rumored current flame, actress Dakota Johnson. The outlet alleges the 37-year-old Fifty Shades of Grey star seemed to be camped outside the studio, waiting for the rapper earlier this month. The rapper was later reportedly seen opening his car door for the actress before the duo drove off.
Reportedly, MGK's vehicle was spotted at Johnson's home the following morning. Hey, maybe they're platonic pals and just stayed up all night talking about the deep lyrics of "Smoke and Drive."
Regardless, neither artist has confirmed the alleged relationship... yet.
